Amy and Amanda went to high school together in Toledo, Ohio. Recently, they reconnected over their love for travel and spent a month roaming all over India and Nepal. Combined, they have been to 40 countries and counting!
Amy loves eating street food and hanging out with wild monkeys while traveling. She used to be too scared to travel internationally, but eventually worked up the courage with a trip to Peru and has been hooked ever since. She loves planning and logistics, and often plans complicated trip itineraries to far off places just for fun. Amy also enjoys planning travel for other people; recently she’s done a family trip, a honeymoon, and a bachelorette party.
Amy spent 7 years living in San Francisco and working in Silicon Valley. She now lives in Michigan and is excited about gardening, grilling, and shorter flights to Europe.
Amanda has been interested in international travel for as long as she can remember. It was during a trip to Vietnam that she realized money couldn’t buy happiness. Upon her return she decided to quit her successful NYC career and leave her Prada handbag and red-soled Louboutins behind to travel the world on her own.
Amanda loves authentic experiences with local people in exotic places, although she could do without the geckos in her sleeping quarters. She travels for the thrill of the unknown, a good challenge, and unforgettable stories.
She believes that traveling helps you gain perspective on what’s important in life, and wants to inspire others to live their lives to the fullest.
She currently resides in Chicago and is writing a book based on her travels.
