Spending the Weekend in a Treehouse

Earlier in the year, I was looking for something interesting to do for a non-typical (aka not Vegas) bachelorette party for a good friend. At some point in my googling, I stumbled across a treehouse for rent. A treehouse? Finding Accommodations Mid-Travel

The first time that I ever looked for lodging while on the road was in Indonesia. A friend had told me about this perfect, incredible, fabulous, wonderful, amazing, cheap little place she found on this tiny island but there was one problem…..she forgot the name of it! After walking around for 20 minutes barefoot up and down the beach in 95-degree heat, a 40lb bag on my back and asking about 30 strangers for Ronni, I finally found the man of the hour! And she was right, his bungalows were perfect, incredible, fabulous, wonderful, amazing and cheap!

Finding accommodation mid-travel does not always have to be this hard. Here are 3 easy ways to easily find lodging while on the road.

Different Types of International Accommodations

Hotels are the first thing that come to mind when looking for international accommodations. This was especially true for me before I took my 7-month trip.  While hotels are always a nice place to rest your head (for the most part), you may be surprised to know that there are so many other options out there.  I’ve put together a list of a few different types of lodging that I discovered during my travels.

Hotels

If familiarity is something that’s important to you while traveling, hotels are the way to go.  In fact many hotel chains are international nowadays and can be found in most countries. Don’t be afraid to try some international hotels abroad that you would never try at home.
