The Perfect Travel Bag

Hey everyone! It’s been a while since I’ve traveled, but I’m on my way to South Africa and I’m really excited because I think I’ve FINALLY found the perfect travel bag.

In Bangkok, Romania, India, and Paris with my old Travelon bag. It's seen some better days.
My old bag, the Travelon Anti-Theft Classic Hobo Bag has been around the world with me, and while it’s been a great companion, it’s looking a bit rough these days. Like, it used to be purple, and now it’s kind of a splotchy, brownish-blackish-purple. While it’s been a generally functional bag, it’s mostly one big pocket, which makes things hard to find.

I’ve been on the hunt for a bag that can do triple-duty as a day bag, carry-on bag, and a purse. Can any bag be big enough to hold everything I need for flights and layovers and walking around yet be small enough to use as a purse and not be a nuisance? It seems impossible, I mean, I carry a 1L water bottle with me everywhere, yet…

Here it is! The Baggallini Everywhere Travel Crossbody Bag! And yes, I only buy purple bags.

I’m currently using this bag as my carry-on. My only other piece of luggage is a 65L backpack, and I’m very happy to have this as a carry-on rather than my normal backpack since I only have one back and carrying 2 backpacks gets kind of awkward. (Amanda and I did this all over India – scroll down to see us overloaded with backpacks!)

So what’s in my new Baggallini bag? So much! The dimensions are 9 x 13.5 x 5 and holds an unbelievable amount of stuff. Here’s what I have:

My new travel bag and everything in it.

  • my laptop (New Macbook in Space Gray)
  • iPad Mini
  • iPhone (not pictured, taking the picture)
  • Samsung Galaxy Camera 2
  • 1L water bottle
  • wallet
  • bag with my lotion, earplugs, tissues, sleeping pills, and lip balm
  • around-the-neck money belt
  • passport
  • sunglasses
  • sleep Mask
  • paper documents
  • pen
  • Bose headphones
  • laptop charger
  • 2 plug adaptors for South Africa
  • iPone & iPad charger
  • camera charger
  • 4 lipsticks and lip balms
  • hair ties
  • wet wipe
  • 2/3 of a chocolate bar (obviously the most important thing)

I’m still not sure about the logistics of how all of these things are fitting (magic?) but it probably has to do with all the cool pockets. There inside of the bag has a zippered pocket, credit card holders, and a smaller clutch purse which I am using for the laptop chargers. The back also has another pocket (which unzips on the bottom so you can put it over a luggage handle) and there are 2 pockets on the sides in addition to the 2 on the front.

The New Macbook is the bomb by the way. It’s so tiny and perfect for travel while still being a fully functional computer with a high resolution screen.

I’d highly recommend this bag if you’re looking for something small but awesome. If violet isn’t your color, it comes in lot of other colors as well.

Happy travels!
